When I signed up for eharmony, I didn't REALLY believe that they would find the perfect person for me....but they did! Curtis and I began communicating, and I could tell from the first time we emailed, that he and I were meant to be together. We have so many similarities, and our personality profiles were an exact match. Who would have thought that the very best man in the whole world was living a scant 5 hours North of me!

Curtis is the most loving, giving, caring person I have ever met. He met me when I was at my lowest point, and fell in love with me anyway. He loves my heart, embraces my quirky sense of humor, and understands where I have been and where I hope to go.

We are getting married on September 4, 2010, but not going on our honeymoon until June 2011. I thought I might take a moment to explain why we are waiting!

September is such a busy time for our entire family - school will be starting for the boys, Curtis will hopefully be starting his new job teaching art at the boy's school, and our wedding is just a few scant days before the start of the Fall quarter session of classes at the Literacy Project. We thought it would be far more relaxing and enjoyable if we waited until the boys are visiting their father in the summer, and when things slow down a little for the two of us.

Our wedding ceremony will be held in the prayer garden of the church. Our backup plan in case of rain is in a room that the church is setting up "just in case." We will have Cathe Evins as our officiant, and Brooks Ausborn (guitarist) will be providing the music. Our ceremony will be more than just a typical wedding. Our mutual children will also be involved in the ceremony because this is more than just tying Curtis and I together, but will be a blending of our families. I am just so excited! A scant three weeks until the big day, and LOTS to do. This is going to be so much fun, and I am so ready to be his wife.

As usually happens with weddings, our guest list increased to the point that having our reception at Mom and Dad's house is no longer a practical option. Instead, I have found a nice little reception hall that provides all of the tables, chairs, linens, catering, and cake! Our reception will be at the Regency Fiesta on Pecan in Pharr. I really wanted to keep as much of the wedding as possible in the same town where I live because I think it is critical to support the economy of my own community.

The nearest airport to Pharr is the McAllen-Miller International Airport (MFE).
